To strengthen internationalization efforts and expand global research collaboration networks, the Nutrition Department of the Faculty of Medicine, Diponegoro University (FK Undip) carried out a Staff Exchange Program at Hospital Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah (HSAAS), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). The program took place from 10–17 November 2025 and was attended by two representatives from FK Undip: Gemala Anjani, SP., M.Si., Ph.D, Head of the Nutrition Department, and Ahmad Syauqy, S.Gz., MPH., Ph.D, Dietitian and Head of the Undergraduate Nutrition Program.

During the program, the UNDIP team collaborated directly with Prof. Madya Dr. Zulfitri ’Azuan Bin Mat Daud, a researcher in clinical dietetics and clinical nutrition, who served as the primary partner in academic and research collaboration. This visit marked a strategic step in strengthening joint research, enhancing academic capacity, and preparing co-authored scientific publications for reputable international journals.

The series of activities included institutional orientation, observation of clinical dietetics services at HSAAS, clinical practice sessions involving patients with obesity, diabetes mellitus, and malnutrition, as well as observation of the Nutrition Focused Physical Examination (NFPE) and clinical case discussions. Additionally, the team participated in research consultation sessions, methodological refinement, and drafting scientific articles as part of the joint publication agenda with UPM.

The visit also resulted in discussions on future institutional cooperation, including expanded opportunities for collaborative research, the development of nutrition and dietetics curricula, and plans for staff and student exchanges between the two institutions. These initiatives align with UNDIP’s strategy to strengthen QS World University Rankings indicators and reinforce its position as a World Class University.

Through this staff exchange program, the Nutrition Department of FK Undip further solidifies its international collaboration network and is expected to contribute significantly to the advancement of nutrition science, the enhancement of scientific publication productivity, and the strengthening of Indonesia’s academic reputation on the global stage.
