History of The Establishment of Nutrition Study Program Faculty of Medicine Diponegoro University
Nutrition Science Study Program (PSIG) Faculty of Medicine Diponegoro University was established in 2002. This study program was born from the nutrition section of the Faculty of Medicine. One of the founding initiators is Prof. Dr. dr. Satoto, Sp.GK. He has the ideal and hope, the formation of a nutrition government at Diponegoro University. Where the kingdom of nutrition is defined by the creation of a center for the study of nutrition, starting from Bachelor’s, Master’s, Doctoral and nutritional professions, even if it is necessary can also be formed vocational education. Starting with several meetings of experts and nutrition observers in semarang city area, finally formed PSIG with decree number Establishment of Study Program:1870/D/2002 and the date of the establishment decree of September 3, 2002 signed by the Director General of Higher Education. PSIG Faculty of Medicine Diponegoro University is one of the pioneers along with 4 other universities (UGM, UB, UNHAS and Universitas Esa Unggul) in the establishment of bachelor of nutrition program in Indonesia.
The Nutrition Study Program of The Faculty of Medicine diponegoro University was established in the Education Zone of RSUP Dr. Kariadi Jl. Dr. Sutomo No. 18 Semarang. PSIG obtained operational license from the Directorate General of Directorate General with no SK No.1665/D/T/2004 dated May 18, 2004. In 2010, PSIG FK Undip has been accredited with a grade B (Good) from the National Accreditation Board of Higher Education with No.SK 031/BAN-PT/Ak-XIII/S1/XII/2010.
Nutrition Science Study Program continues to develop well in terms of human resources as well as facilities and infrastructure. In 2014, the Department of Nutritional Sciences was established by the Faculty of Medicine, joining the Master of Nutrition.
In 2016, PSIG Faculty of Medicine Diponegoro University received accreditation value A (Excellent) based on the Decree of the Board of Directors of the Association of Independent Accreditation Institutions of Indonesian Health Higher Education (LAM-PTKes) No: 0349/LAM-PTKes/Akr/Sar/I/2016. With the development of PSG FK Undip and faculty of medicine as well as the expansion program of Undip, then in 2017 PSG FK Undip moved to the Nutrition Building area of the Faculty of Medicine Diponegoro University in Tembalang, Semarang.
Since 2018, PSIG has changed its name to Nutrition Study Program (PSG) based on the Decree of the Minister of Research, Technology, and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia No. 257/M/KPT/2017 on the Name of Study Program in Higher Education.
