Semarang, 2025 — The Department of Nutrition, Faculty of Medicine, Diponegoro University (UNDIP) continues to strengthen its global network through the International Collaboration with TOP 200 QS WUR Universities program, designed to encourage faculty members to actively engage in international academic and research activities. This initiative aims to broaden perspectives, enhance global competencies, and reinforce inter-university collaboration. As part of this effort, the Department of Nutrition FK UNDIP conducted an academic visit to the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), from 10–17 November 2025, represented by Gemala Anjani, SP, MSi, PhD. The collaboration was carried out together with Prof. Dr. Barakatun Nisak Mohd Yusof and her team, who are distinguished academics and professionals in nutrition at UPM and play a key role in supporting the strengthening of academic partnerships between the two institutions.

The academic visit took place from 10–17 November 2025. During her time at UPM, Dr. Gemala conducted direct observations of educational and clinical practice facilities, including dietetic laboratories and nutrition services at Hospital Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah. Alongside Prof. Barakatun Nisak and her team, the observational activities provided comprehensive insights into dietetic practice standards, nutrition service systems, and evidence-based clinical education models implemented at UPM. These findings offer valuable perspectives for strengthening the curriculum and learning practices within the Department of Nutrition at UNDIP.

In addition to observational activities, the visit also included in-depth discussions on developing joint programs between UNDIP and UPM. The discussions covered opportunities for collaboration in education, research, academic exchanges, and the enhancement of evidence-based practice initiatives at both institutions.

Academic collaboration between UNDIP and UPM has been active through international guest lectures, scientific discussions, and plans for joint publications. The involvement of Prof. Dr. Barakatun Nisak Mohd Yusof and her team further strengthens the foundation for a productive, supportive, and sustainable partnership.

Through this initiative, the Department of Nutrition UNDIP reaffirms its commitment to expanding its global network, improving academic quality, and strengthening its role as a competitive institution at the international level.
